Description
Semiaquilegia ecalcarata, also called False Columbine, is a graceful perennial native to China, admired for its finely divided, fern-like foliage and soft, spurless flowers in shades of pink and purple. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it reaches 8 to 18 inches tall and spreads 10 to 12 inches wide, thriving in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil with partial shade. Though short-lived, it self-seeds readily, making it a lovely choice for woodland borders, rock gardens, or naturalized plantings where its quiet elegance can shine year after year.
