Description
Lilium formosanum var. pricei is a compact, trumpet-flowered lily native to Taiwan, admired for its elegant stature and ease of cultivation. From a tidy rosette of narrow leaves, slender stems rise in late summer bearing fragrant, outward-facing white trumpets flushed with soft pink and brushed in burgundy at the throat. Despite its exotic appearance, pricei is one of the easiest lilies to grow from seed, with seedlings typically reaching flowering size by their third year. Thriving in full sun to light shade and well-drained soil, it’s well-suited to rock gardens, alpine beds, and containers where its refined form and late-season bloom can be appreciated up close. With reliable germination and compact habit, pricei offers both grace and gratification to patient gardeners.
