Geranium sanguineum is a hardy, low-growing perennial native to Europe and western Asia, cherished for its finely cut foliage. There are many cultivars of this species which tend to grow true from seed. Our seeds produce pale pink blooms. From late spring through summer, its saucer-shaped flowers appear in generous succession, drawing pollinators and brightening borders, rock gardens, and slopes with effortless charm. The deeply lobed leaves form a tidy, spreading mound that often takes on rich red tones in autumn, extending its seasonal appeal. Thriving in full sun to light shade in average soil, G. sanguineum is remarkably drought-tolerant once established and well-suited to naturalistic plantings or as a groundcover beneath taller companions.
