| Camassia leichtlinii is a stately bulbous perennial native to western North America, admired for its tall spires of lavender-blue, star-shaped flowers that bloom in late spring. Each flower features six elegant tepals with subtle greenish centers and contrasting purple stamens, opening sequentially from the base upward for a prolonged display. Rising 3 to 4 feet tall on sturdy stems, the floral spikes emerge from clumps of narrow, strap-like foliage that provide a lush backdrop before fading.
