Description
Anemonopsis macrophylla is a rare and elegant woodland perennial native to Japan, admired for its refined foliage and delicate summer blooms. Its compound leaves emerge in spring, typically divided into two or three lobes with toothed margins and sharply pointed tips, forming a tidy, architectural mound. In mid to late summer, slender stems rise above the foliage bearing nodding, pale lavender flowers with darker inner petals—each bloom resembling a tiny, suspended lantern. Thriving in cool, moist, shaded conditions, it lends a quiet grace to forest gardens and shaded borders. Slow to establish but long-lived, it rewards careful placement and patience with enduring beauty.
